2 days ago at while at the library, sunny clear skies turned dark with looming gray clouds overhead all in an instant. Thunder could be heard rumbling in the distance. Thoughts of 'strange' and 'weird' hit me since it was just too sudden. The skies were clear just a minute ago without a single white fluffy cloud in sight.

Then it came down.

Sounds of stones hitting the library roof. LOUD sounds. People in the library began to garner fear and inquisitive looks. Everyone started running to the door or windows to take a look.

A hailstorm! Huge blocks of ice were falling from the sky. Coupled with the strong winds, the ice were blown all over the place and shattered into pieces. Cameras of all sorts dominated the scene as curious people started to capture the scary yet intriguing moment.

A girl was studying outside on the rooftop garden when the hailstorm hit. Her head was bleeding slightly while all her books, which she forgot in her moment of panic, were throughly wet. Poor girl. Some concerned Korean guys helped take a look and got her some tissues while some others carried her books in for her.

What caught me was how during that moment of curiosity, fear and excitement all tangled into one, strangers became friends as all who did not know each other started to speak incessantly to one another as well offer help to those who needed it.

The hailstorm lasted for almost half an hour. After that, there were so many people on the phone excitedly relating what had happened to friends and family. I could not stop thinking of the number of people who could have gotten hurt. The pedestrians and motorists alike. Scary.

I thank God I was indoors at that time as the hailstorm just hit without warning. Moreover, it left us with lots of broken tree branches, injured students and even an injured library! Poor leaking library of ours.

An experience nonetheless!
